Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 28, 2026
Your family's memories are deeply personal, and protecting them is at the heart of what we do. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is the operator of Kaydo. You can reach us using the contact details listed on our Contact page.
2. What data we collect
Account data: your name, email address, and the credentials you use to sign in.
Content you create: photos, videos, audio recordings, journals, recipes, and other memories you choose to upload, along with information you add such as captions, dates, and the family members you share with.
Technical data: information your device sends automatically, such as device type, browser, and basic log data needed to operate and secure the Service.
We collect only what we need to provide the Service and do not sell your personal data.
3. How we use your data
To create and manage your account and your family space.
To store, display, and back up the content you upload so you and your invited family members can access it.
To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
To communicate with you about important changes, security notices, or support requests.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where data protection law such as the EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you to provide the Service; your consent where we ask for it; our legitimate interests in keeping the Service safe and reliable; and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing and processors
Your content is private to your family space by default. It is only visible to the people you invite.
We use carefully selected service providers to host and operate the Service (for example, cloud hosting and media storage). These providers act as our processors, handle data only on our instructions, and are bound by appropriate data-protection agreements.
We do not share your personal data with advertisers, and we do not use your content to train advertising profiles.
6. International transfers
Where data is processed outside your country or the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent legal mechanism.
7. How long we keep data
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details on our Contact page.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. While no system can be perfectly secure, we continuously work to safeguard your information.
10. Children
Kaydo is designed for families and may include content about children, but accounts must be created and managed by an adult. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts without a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version here and, where changes are significant, notify you directly.
